The need for an architecture board

A cross-organization board is needed to oversee implementation of architecture strategy. A sponsoring body has more influence for broad corporate support.

Responsibilities

• decide the rules for decision making related to architecture
• enforcement of architecture compliance
• ensuring that architecture-based development is adopted
• ensuring the effective management and implementation of the architectures
• resolving escalated issues
• formal acceptance of architecture through consensus and publication
• identifying divergence from the architecture and planning for realignment
