3.2 Briefly describe Tenet 2: Frame Strategy Around “Hard-to-Reverse” Choices

Strategy is about making choices. The choices we make when thinking about a strategy should be a one-way door. It should be difficult to return to our original state.

3.3 Briefly describe: Tenet 3. Anticipate Unintended Consequences AND Bending the Law of Unintended Consequences

Understand that Type 1 decisions can be made disastrous by unintended consequences. We need to prepare for these unintended consequences.

It is not practical to experiment with hard-to-reverse decisions.

Instead of an experiment, you can run model based simulations against various possible futures/events/conditions.

3.4 Briefly describe Tenet 5: Mix Stability and Dynamism

Strategy should only evolve for good reasons. Strategy conversations should be had when there is a change in the market or other conditions surrounding the agile enterprise.

3.5 Briefly explain Succeeding Strategy Deployment

Implement definition of OKRs targeted at various business groups. Decompose objectives until they are actionable at the manager-level. Have quantitative Key Results. Have a catchball process, with frank discussion between management levels. Leaders define required results, teams define means.
