You did not get into your doubt simply by thinking, and you will not get out of your doubt simply by thinking

Your doubt is common, not new, and not neutral

Many of the most godly people doubted

• Abraham
• Moses
• The disciples

People who deal with their doubt struggle with God in prayer. Doubt is not bad.

Psalm 73

It can often feel like good things happen to bad people, but the good people get punished.

When it comes to prosperity we say why them?
When it comes to suffering we say why us?

Do you ever feel like you give and get nothing but stingy people get everything?

Often our circumstances don't make sense with how we assume God's goodness and justice works. We get spiritual/emotional vertigo.

All doubts are a set of alternative beliefs. Every doubt is a leap of faith.

Struggle with your doubt into the sanctuary of God

1. Identify with the community of wrestlers who worship
   • Get around others on the same faith climb as you
   • We are called to wrestle Ephesians 6:10-13
2. Worship until God re-orders your perspective and passion
   • In the presence of God we realize how quick and short life is
   • It helps correct our short-sightedness
   • Sometimes our doubt is created because we see God as useful instead of beautiful
3. Remember the amazing grace of his nearness
   • Jesus endured farness from God so that we could experience nearness to God
